fortress — A fortress made out of more than one tonne of clay conceals me from view.  The white cord that spirals around the outside was pushed inside through a hole in the clay at the bottom of the tower. I pull on it – and the cord cuts through the damp clay. Seen from outside, it is like an animated line. The amorphous building is structured in the form of lines or scars that are instantly healed by the weight of the clay. The clay yields, changes shape until I have to leave the fortress and  it collapses. Slowly, lethargically the structure caves in, pressing against the cord or giving in to its pressure.
